I was enjoying a lazy day, when I noticed water under the dishwasher. I turned off the power and unscrewed it and pulled the thing out and sure enough right under the pump , I see a drip, drip of water. I had enough hose and wire to put the washer on its side on a tarp without discoinnecting either. I could see the water leaking right where the motor shaft goes into the pump. I removed the pump motor assembly, which was very easy with a small socket set and a screwdriver. I could not get the pump apart, until I read on the internet that it is a left handed thread (now if I were king, I would edict that wherever you produce something that has a left handed thread, it must be clearly marked in big Letters "LTH". so much for me being king)anyway I could take it apart by hand once I knew this. and I could see the rubber seal was shot. I ordered an impeller rebuild kit for $29 with shipping and I am anxiously awaiting whether I will complete my handyman job or I will visit Lowes appliance dept soon. My wife wants a new dishwasher and secretly I think she wants me to fail. If I have to pay $150 or more for the entire motor/pump assembly I probably will buy a new one. TO BE Continued............
